Dental Hygiene
The foundation of oral health
Dental hygiene is not just an aesthetic matter — it forms the very foundation of the health of your whole mouth. By regularly removing plaque and tartar, where bacteria multiply, we protect not only your teeth but also your overall health.

The main goal of dental hygiene is prevention — preventing tooth decay, gum inflammation (gingivitis) and periodontitis, which can lead to tooth loss. Chronic inflammation in the mouth has been shown to burden the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of diabetes. Dental hygiene is an investment that extends the lifespan of your own teeth, implants and prosthetic work.
The most common issues we treat
Tartar and plaque
Removing deposits above and below the gumline with ultrasound and hand instruments.
Discoloration
From coffee, tea, red wine or smoking — removed gently using Airflow.
Bleeding and gum inflammation
Targeted treatment of gingivitis and the prevention and treatment of periodontitis.
What we offer within this service

Initial dental hygiene
A comprehensive initial treatment lasting 60 minutes: an examination of the gums with plaque detection, removal of tartar above and below the gumline using ultrasound and hand instruments, Airflow polishing with a gentle trehalose powder, and a final fluoride treatment. It also includes personalised instruction and hands-on coaching directly in your mouth, with calibrated measurement of the interdental spaces and selection of the right cleaning aids. The only restriction afterwards is not to eat or drink for at least half an hour, so the protective fluoride gel can take proper effect.
Maintenance dental hygiene / Recall
A regular maintenance visit to keep your mouth healthy over the long term. It usually takes 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the condition of your mouth and the level of your home care. We always set the date of your next recall at the end of the treatment.

Pediatric dental hygiene
Care adapted to the child's age — from toddlers through the mixed-dentition years to teenagers with permanent teeth. We recommend a first visit from around the age of two to three, when it serves mainly to familiarise the child and build prevention. The treatment takes a standard 40 minutes: visual plaque detection by staining the teeth, gentle cleaning with fine flavoured polishing powders or soft polishing brushes, and a final fluoride application. We actively involve parents in the correct technique for finishing their child's brushing.

Teeth whitening
Professional whitening removes both deep and surface discoloration from the enamel — the result is a naturally radiant, lighter shade of teeth. We offer at-home, in-office and combined whitening using the certified Pure Whitening and Opalescence systems. The prerequisite is completely healthy teeth without untreated decay and gums free of inflammation; professional dental hygiene is always required before whitening. The in-office phase takes about 60 to 90 minutes; the at-home phase typically lasts 10 to 14 days.
Deep scaling below the gumline
Deep cleaning below the gumline, intended for patients with periodontitis. We remove tartar and plaque deposits above and below the gumline using ultrasound and hand instruments, and monitor the gums with calibrated periodontal probes. The treatment is part of a long-term care plan that our dental hygienists consult directly with the clinic's dentists.
A modern approach with proven methods
Ultrasonic scalers (Piezo technology)
Modern ultrasonic devices for the gentle removal of tartar above and below the gumline.
Airflow polishing systems (sub- and supragingival)
Professional systems for gentle polishing and removing biofilm from the surface of teeth and dental restorations. We use a gentle trehalose powder — and extra-fine flavoured powders for children.
Calibrated periodontal probes
For precise measurement of interdental spaces and monitoring the health of the gums.
Pure Whitening and Opalescence systems
Globally recognised, safe premium whitening systems. The professional gels act only on the pigments inside the enamel without disturbing or damaging the structure of the tooth itself.
Custom laboratory whitening trays
Custom trays made to measure in the laboratory from precise impressions or scans of the jaws. They fit the teeth perfectly and prevent the gel from leaking onto the gums.
